A Winemaker’s Dinner!

Who: All you wine and food lovers out there in the San Diego area

What: A winemaker dinner featuring San Diego local winemaker Elaine Lyttleton, of Hatfield Creek Vineyards & Winery in Ramona. Four fabulous local wines paired with four courses prepared by Chef Oz and chocolates paired by local chocolatier Michelle Lomelin from Sweet Petite Confections.

When: (Wine) Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:00 pm

Where: Cueva Bar, of course! (2123 Adams Avenue, San Diego)

Why: Because why the heck not?!

Other important info: Only 20 seats left. Tickets are $40 p/p OR $35 for our pre-sale pricing (which is pretty awesome for 4 courses with wine/chocolates

Pairing menu:

Wine- Fonzi Field Blend 2015– Dry, full bodied dark colored wine, exuding aromas of plums & berries

Chocolate- Hibiscus- Honeyed Serrano Lime– Milk chocolate ganache with a serrano chile infusion, local raw honey from Julian and crystallized lime enrobed in 38% milk chocolate

 

Tapa- Figs, cheese and pistachios grilled flat bread

Wine- Petite Syrah 2015– Fruity and herbaceous, the luscious color deep & dark. The early & hot 2015 summer is reflected in the full flavors and higher alcohol.

Chocolate- Conch Shell- Strawberry Lemonade Bonbon– Fresh strawberry ganache with a lemon zest infusion and crystallized lemon enrobed in 64% dark chocolate

 

                                                 Tapa- Black garlic shrimp stuffed piquillo pepper with a black bean sauce

Wine- Cabernet Sauvignon 2015– Ramona Valley grapes produce a lighter style Cab, but with the same flavor profile as expected:  black currants, cherries and vanilla.

Chocolate- Plumeria- Passion Fruit Bonbon– Tart passion fruit ganache balanced with the mellow acidity of its 64% dark chocolate shell.

Tapa- Tlacoyo de puerco con mole

Wine- Bonbon 2014– There are hints of chocolate on the nose & berry on the tongue.  It is Black Forest Cake in a glass.

Chocolate- Vintage Seashells- Framboise Bonbon– Raspberry puree and Chambord liqueur in a 72% dark chocolate ganache with an intense roasted bitterness enrobed in 72% dark chocolate.
